Cookie policy
Last updated: 28 October 2026
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on www.luiguibleand.com and news.luiguibleand.com: what they are, what each one does, how long it lasts and how you can control it. It goes with our Privacy notice, which explains who we are and how to contact us (chat@illokomngt.io).
Cookies and similar technologies, in plain words
A cookie is a small text file that a website saves in your browser. Your browser sends it back to the site on later visits, so the site can recognise the browser or remember a setting.
Websites can also save information in other parts of your browser: 'local storage' (kept until it is deleted), 'session storage' (deleted when you close the tab), small databases, and 'service workers' (small scripts that can, for example, receive notifications while the site is closed).
The law also covers scripts that read information from your device without saving anything, for example your screen size, time zone or browser type. In this policy, 'cookies' means all of these.
Under UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, PECR), a site may store information on your device, or read information from it, only with your consent, unless an exception applies. The exceptions relevant here are: storage or access that is strictly necessary for a service you asked for, which includes keeping it secure; and storage or access whose only purpose is to adapt the site's appearance or functions to your preferences, as long as you are told about it and have a simple, free way to switch it off.
The categories
| Category | What it covers | Default | Your control |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Security of the sites (Alibaba's security cookies) and remembering your cookie choices (lb-consent) | Always on | Cannot be switched off in Cookie settings, because the sites could not be kept secure or remember your choice. You can still block or delete them in your browser. |
| Preferences | Remembering the language you pick, light or dark theme, and where you move the Bleand note | On | Switch off at any time in Cookie settings, or choose 'Reject all'. The site then deletes these settings, stops saving them and uses its defaults. We rely on the PECR exception for storage whose only purpose is to adapt the site to your preferences; it requires that you are told about the storage and can easily switch it off. The ICO gives remembering the language you select as an example of this exception. |
| Analytics | Microsoft Clarity | Off | On only if you switch it on or choose 'Accept all' (consent). Switch it off at any time. |
| External content | YouTube videos | Off | On only if you switch it on or choose 'Accept all' (consent); the videos on news articles then load by themselves. While it is off, you can still load one video on the page you are on by pressing play; saving a choice with it off stops that video again. Switch it off at any time. |
| Notifications | What the notification bell needs: a cookie, three local-storage items, a service worker and your browser's push subscription | Off | The service worker is registered when you press the bell, while your browser asks for permission; the push subscription, the cookie and the local-storage items are set up only if you allow notifications. Press the bell again to switch them off, or block notifications for our site in your browser. Cookie settings does not change notifications. |
Everything the sites store on, or read from, your device
'First party' means stored for our own domains (luiguibleand.com, www and news), whoever's code writes it: ours, or a provider's script running on our pages. 'Third party' means stored for another company's domain, for example inside an embedded player. The third column says which it is and whose code sets or reads each item. Durations are as set in the sites' code or as measured in our checks of 26 and 28 October 2026.
| Name | Type | Party and provider | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| acw_tc | Cookie (HttpOnly) | First party (our domains: www, luiguibleand.com, news and push); set by Alibaba Cloud ESA, our hosting provider | Recognises one browser's requests so ESA's security firewall can count them and limit floods of traffic | Strictly necessary (security) | 1 hour, set again with each page |
| cdn_sec_tc | Cookie (HttpOnly) | First party (our domains); set by Alibaba Cloud ESA | Same as acw_tc: recognises one browser's requests for ESA's security | Strictly necessary (security) | 1 hour |
| rum_common.js (Alibaba performance script) | Reading information from your device (nothing stored) | Ran on our pages until 28 October 2026; Alibaba's script, added by its network to some page views | Read your browser type and the page address, timed connections to test addresses chosen by Alibaba, and sent all this to Alibaba; see 'Hosting, delivery and security' in the Privacy notice | Switched off on 28 October 2026 (it was not controlled by Cookie settings) | Not stored |
| lb-consent | Cookie, shared by www and news | First party | Remembers your choices in Cookie settings (which categories you allowed, and when) and nothing else. It is set only when you choose: 'Accept all', 'Reject all', 'Save choices', or closing the banner with X, which keeps the defaults. Because it is shared by our sites, your browser also sends it with your requests to them | Strictly necessary | 180 days; after that, or if you delete it, the banner asks again |
| lb-pick | Cookie, shared by www and news | First party | Remembers the language you pick in the language menu. Set only when you pick a language yourself and Preferences are on; not when the language comes from the address you opened or from your device settings | Preferences | 1 year, written again on each later page view while a pick exists, so the year keeps rolling forward |
| lb-pick | Local storage (www and news, separately) | First party | A copy of the same language pick | Preferences | No expiry: kept until you switch Preferences off or clear your browser data |
| lb-theme | Local storage (www) | First party | Light or dark theme. Saved only when you use the theme button, and only while Preferences are on | Preferences | No expiry: kept until you switch Preferences off or clear your browser data |
| bn-closed | Session storage (www) | First party | Remembers that you minimised the current Bleand note (stores the note's ID) | Preferences | Until you close the tab; removed when you reopen the note |
| bn-pos | Local storage (www) | First party | Where you dragged the floating note | Preferences | No expiry; removed if you press the Home key on the note, switch Preferences off or clear your browser data |
| bn-icon-pos | Local storage (www) | First party | Where you dragged the minimised note icon | Preferences | No expiry; removed if you press the Home key, switch Preferences off or clear your browser data |
| Language detection (nothing stored) | Reading device settings | First party | On a visit where no language comes from the address you opened or from a language you picked, the site reads your device's time zone and, if needed, your browser's preferred language, to show a matching language. Nothing is stored or sent anywhere | Adapting the site to your preferences; see 'Changing your choices' for how to avoid it | Not stored |
| lb-push | Cookie, shared by www and news | First party | Tells both sites whether this browser has notifications on, so you never subscribe twice and can switch off from either site. Value: 'on.' or 'off.' followed by a coded version (SHA-256) of your browser's push address. That code is also the key of your subscription record on our server, so it is a pseudonymous identifier | Notifications: set only after you switch them on | 1 year from the last time it is written (when you switch notifications on or off, or when your subscription changes). After you switch off, it keeps 'off.' and the same code until it expires, so the other site also knows notifications are off |
| lb-push-id | Local storage (www and news, separately) | First party | The same code, used to notice a changed or lost subscription | Notifications: set only after you switch them on | Until you switch notifications off or clear your browser data |
| lb-push-lang | Local storage | First party | The device language last sent with your subscription, so a change updates the language of your notifications | Notifications: set only after you switch them on | Until you switch notifications off |
| lb-push-sync | Local storage | First party | Time of the last check with our notification server (checked again every 7 days) | Notifications: set only after you switch them on | Until you switch notifications off |
| lb-push-sw.js (service worker) and push subscription | Service worker, browser push subscription and notification permission | First party (service worker); your browser and its push service (subscription) | Receives and shows notifications, and opens the post when you click one. No offline copy and no cache | Notifications: the service worker is registered when you press the bell, while your browser asks for permission; the push subscription is created only if you allow notifications | Until you switch notifications off, withdraw permission or clear your browser data. The service worker may stay registered after you switch off, or if you pressed the bell but did not allow notifications, but without a subscription it receives nothing |
| lb-lang | Local storage and cookie (old) | First party (older versions of the site) | An old language setting | None: no longer used | Deleted on your next visit |
| lb-slides-v4, lb-gallery-v4, lb-photoslide-v2 | Local storage (www) | First party | Saved photo selection for an internal photo-curation tool. The homepage checks for these items, but visitors cannot create them: the tool has no visible button | Not used for visitors | Not applicable |
| _clck and _clsk (cookies), _cltk (session storage) | Cookies and session storage | First party (our domain); would be set by Microsoft Clarity's script | Would recognise the same browser across pages and visits for Clarity | Analytics: not set on our sites | Not set: even with your consent, we tell Clarity not to use cookies, and our Clarity project has tracking cookies switched off. If you switch Analytics off, the site deletes them anyway in case they exist |
| _uetvid and _uetmsclkid | Cookies | First party (our domain); Microsoft Advertising cookies | Microsoft advertising cookies that the Clarity script is set up to look for | Advertising: not used | Never set by our sites |
| Clarity advertising ID sync (c.clarity.ms/c.gif) | Third-party cookie sync | Third party (Microsoft's own domains); Microsoft | Matches Microsoft advertising IDs | Advertising: not used | Never runs: we always refuse advertising storage |
| ytidb::LAST_RESULT_ENTRY_KEY (local storage) and YtIdbMeta (IndexedDB database) | Third-party storage on youtube-nocookie.com | Third party (youtube-nocookie.com); Google (YouTube player) | Internal state of the YouTube player, saved once the player loads (after you press play, or on news articles when External content is on). These are the items we saw in our checks; the player may save others | External content (consent) | Set by Google. Local storage and IndexedDB have no built-in expiry: these items stay until the player removes them or you clear your browser data |
| Cache storage and IndexedDB (our sites) | Cache API, IndexedDB | Not used by our sites | Not applicable | Not applicable | None found in our audit |
Third-party content and scripts on our pages
These services run on our pages. Some store nothing on your device but still receive data from your browser when they load, so we list them here too. The Privacy notice explains what data each one receives.
| Service | Provider | Where | When it loads | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hosting, delivery and security (ESA) | Alibaba Cloud | All pages | Every request | Strictly necessary |
| ESA performance script (rum_common.js) | Alibaba Cloud | Until 28 October 2026, some www and news page views | Switched off on 28 October 2026; before that, when the page loaded, on the page views where Alibaba added it | Switched off (it was not controlled by Cookie settings) |
| Notification service (push.luiguibleand.com) | Our own service, hosted on Alibaba Cloud ESA | All pages | A short availability check each time a page loads, if your browser supports notifications; a subscription only after you press the bell and allow notifications | Availability check: part of the site; no cookies sent and nothing stored. Subscription: Notifications |
| Bleand Notes feed | Our own function on Alibaba Cloud Function Compute | www homepage and language pages | When the page loads, then at most every 10 minutes while it stays open | Part of the page; stores nothing |
| Microsoft Clarity | Microsoft | All www and news pages, except pages hidden from search engines | Only after you switch on Analytics or choose 'Accept all'; then after the page has finished loading | Analytics (consent) |
| Tour dates | This website | www homepage and language pages | With the page | Part of the page; nothing is sent to another provider |
| YouTube player (homepage) | www homepage video cards | Only when you press a video | External content (your click) | |
| YouTube player (news articles) | News articles with a video, in all their language versions | When you press play, or by itself (without playing) when External content is on | External content (consent) | |
| Fonts | Our own servers | All pages | With the page | Part of the site; nothing is sent to a font provider |
Changing your choices
On your first visit, a banner asks about cookies. 'Accept all' and 'Reject all' are equally easy, and 'Settings' lets you choose each category. 'Reject all' switches off Preferences, Analytics and External content. Closing the banner with X keeps the defaults: Preferences on, Analytics and External content off. If you ignore the banner, Analytics and External content stay off unless you switch them on or load an individual video, and the banner appears again on the next page.
Every page has a 'Cookie settings' link at the bottom. It opens the same panel, where you can switch each category on or off at any time. Withdrawing your consent is as easy as giving it.
Pressing a video's play button loads that video on the page you are on only; it does not change your Cookie settings. If you then save a choice with External content off (including 'Reject all', or closing the banner with X), the page reloads once without it.
When you switch Analytics or External content off, the site stops loading those services from then on. If Clarity or a YouTube player was running on the page, the page reloads once without it, also if you had started the player yourself. The site also deletes any Clarity cookies on our domain. Switching off does not delete data that Microsoft or Google have already received. To ask for deletion of data collected about you, email chat@illokomngt.io: we will handle your request with Microsoft as far as Clarity allows, and pass requests about YouTube, or about the Bandsintown widget we used until 28 October 2026, on to the provider. Items that YouTube saved in your browser can be removed in your browser settings.
We keep your choice for 180 days in the lb-consent cookie. After that, or if you delete the cookie, the banner asks again. We will also ask again before then if we add a new purpose or a new third party.
Preferences are on by default. If you switch them off, or choose 'Reject all', the site deletes the language, theme and note-position settings it saved, stops saving them and uses its defaults.
Separately, on a visit where you have not chosen a language, the site may read your time zone and browser language to pick a matching language; it stores nothing. To avoid this, open a page at its language address (for example www.luiguibleand.com/en/), or pick a language in the menu while Preferences are on.
Notifications have their own switch: the bell. Press it again to switch them off. Cookie settings does not change your notifications.
Global Privacy Control
Some browsers and extensions can send a privacy signal called Global Privacy Control (GPC).
If your browser sends GPC and you have not yet made a choice, we treat it as a 'no' to Analytics and External content: they stay off and the banner is not shown. Preferences stay on, as for any visitor who has not chosen; you can switch them off in Cookie settings. You can still play a single video by pressing its play button.
If you then make a choice in Cookie settings, your explicit choice applies. A choice you saved before your browser started sending GPC also stays in place until you change it or it expires.
GPC does not replace Cookie settings: the panel is always available to you.
Browser controls
You can also block or delete cookies and other site data in your browser settings, and manage notification permissions there. Most browsers have a help page that explains how.
If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the sites may not work. If you clear our site data, your settings are reset, the banner asks again and notifications stop.
Deleting data in your browser removes it from your device. It does not delete data a provider has already received; to ask about that, email chat@illokomngt.io.
Social media and other sites
We link to Luigui's profiles on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook and X, and to streaming and press sites. These are plain links: nothing loads from them until you click. Once you visit, those platforms may use cookies under their own policies; we are not responsible for that.
Questions and changes
For questions about cookies or your data, email chat@illokomngt.io.
We will update this policy when we change what the sites store or read, and ask you again if a change needs your consent. You can report concerns about cookies to the Information Commission (ICO) at https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/cookies/.
